Jan Lepeu

Visiting PhD Researcher

Jan Lepeu is a visiting fellow at the Centre for Security, Diplomacy and Strategy of the Brussels School of Governance. He is currently undertaking a PhD in international relations at the European University Institute in Florence. Jan graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and the College of Europe in Bruges. His main areas of research are international sanctions and EU foreign policy. 

Jan is particularly interested in why and when the EU decides to impose 'restrictive measures’ (aka sanctions) against third countries. Jan also worked for various non-governmental and international organizations in the humanitarian and trade sectors. He is also an active member and contributor to foraus, the leading Swiss think tank on foreign policy.
